Standing firm

Updated: Oct 13, 2017

You have a voice. That's what team 3 discovered this week as they joined Operation Save America in Kentucky to fight abortion. As hundreds of people all across the country flocked to Louisville for an OSA conference, New Life Drama Company was blessed to be a part of the group. Make no mistake, news cameras showed up too. Although the journalists might have been uncertain about what they would find, NLDC was not. They, along with many other Christians stood outside an abortion clinic praying and worshiping.

You may be thinking, "Well this is exciting, but I don't know the first thing about a pro-life ministry." You're not in the minority. In fact, this particular team had two brand new members that just joined NLDC with no experience in a ministry like this at all. Their names are Simon (picture on the right holding a mic) and Mary (top picture in the center). They joined in June making this their very first trip on the road. With team 3 in hand they drove from Phoenix, AZ all the way to Louisville, KY in less than a week to stand in the gap for unborn babbies. When they arrived, they got to see first and foremost what it looks like to stand up for justice. And they discovered they weren't on the losing side. In fact, the abortion clinic they were praying outside of, is the only abortion clinic that exists in Kentucky! If that isn't victorious enough, a baby was even saved yesterday!

Sometimes it's easy to think we're fighting a fight we can't win. When the world surrounds us with their loud opinons and threats, we can feel helpless. But Romans 8:31 declares, "If God is for us, who can be against us?" Each and every one of us are called to stand up for those that can't. We are are given the opportunity and ability to be the voice for true biblical justice when we see an injustice happening.

I know you are standing up for something right now. Maybe you're a pastor of a small town reaching out to a hopeless community. Maybe you're a member of society reaching out to everyone you can for Christ. Let me just say, thank you for forwarding on the gospel and pressing forth. And in times that you feel defeated, know that in God there is victory. Whatever you do, don't give up!

God Bless,

Chris Wineland

NLDC Drama Director
