a rainbow after the storm

Updated: Aug 21, 2019

Recently, our team was praying before a service. We strongly felt that God had amazing things planned for that night. While praying, the word rainbow came to mind. At first, I thought it was random. But as much as I tried to push it to the back of my mind, I couldn't get it out of my thoughts. After service, during the alter call, not a whole lot of people were coming up so I stepped out to find someone to pray for. After praying for two people, a girl stopped me as I walked by. She mentioned that she had seen our ministry before and during the last alter call a new lifer had prayed over her for healing and restoration not knowing she had just had a miscarriage the month before. This time around she was pregnant again, and she was nervous but stayed encouraged through the word she received the last time New Life Drama prayed over her. I didn't know this but the baby that comes after a miscarriage is called a rainbow baby, and the word I had was for her. She was filled with hope and peace after hearing that God was sending a rainbow after her storm and that rainbow would be her baby she was carrying. The woman walked in to the church that night with fear, but left with hope.

God often tries to get our attention to tell us something, but sadly we don't take the time to get to know him closely enough to hear his voice or to see his works. He has gifted us all with different talents and skills so we can use them. He doesn't want us hoarding our gifts and keeping them on a shelf, he wants us using them to bless others. If Bethany hadn't stepped out in faith looking for someone who needed this word, that woman may never had reached out to her. You never realize what you can do until you actually do it.

1 Corinthians 12:5-6

"There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work."

When we step out in faith we not only get to help others but we get to show the face of God working in us. We all have different skill sets and are meant to be a different part of the Lords church but together we are his body. So take heart and search for ways to use the gifts that the Lord has given you, because when you do you can give someone a glimpse of a rainbow after the storm.
