Wow, where do I begin… First off, the whole experience of traveling and ministering everywhere I go has been an absolute amazing time. I've wanted to evangelize and preach the Gospel since the day I knew God called me to be an evangelist. I spent the next four years waiting on God to put me where he wanted me to be. I spent time studying His Word, I received training from my Pastor from my home church, Oasis Worship Center in Lebanon, Missouri, doing everything that I knew I could to prepare myself for this calling. Four years of waiting on God, for Him, on his timing and not mine, to allow me to take a huge step and begin with true evangelism. It was all worth it to see so many lives come to Jesus, including close to 250 inmates come to Jesus in a just two days.
One of the special moments that I will never forget was meeting a particular kid in Roseburg, Oregon. We had just done a youth service and then we took questions from them. One guy asked a question about how and when we know what God's will was in our lives; the same question that was burning on my mind during my four years of "unwanted" patience. Some of the people there tried to give him some answers and although they were very good answers, as I listened and watched him, I could see that he wasn't getting the answer he was looking for and was getting frustrated. After the service, I pulled him aside and I shared with him my testimony and how I got into this ministry.
From here, I'll share with you some of what I shared with him. If there is any word that rings true and faithful for four years and brought me to where I am now, it is this word that cringes at the heart of many Christians. Patience. Oh! How we must learn to be patient. How often do you find yourself standing in front of your toaster waiting for your pop-tart to be done, or in line at a fast-food restaurant and thinking to yourself "and they call this 'fast' food!" The nerve some people have, making us wait! And as Christians, we throw at God the same kind of attitude. "God, when are you going to tell me what you want me to do?" "God, when am I going to get the promises that you've established over 2 centuries ago through your son?" When, When, WHEN!?!?!. I can only imagine Abraham and Sarah's response after hearing they were to bear a child and 25 years later actually conceiving the promise son, Isaac. (Gen 12:4; 21:5) The writers of Hebrews tell us in Hebrews 6:12, "…so that you won't become lazy, but imitators of those who inherit the promises through faith and perseverance (another word for patience)." So have patience, and God will pull through, on his timing. And when you look back, you'll see exactly why he placed you right where you are and at this special timing.
I look forward to the great ministry that I'll be doing throughout the year. If you want to support me and help me to go on a mission’s trip with NLDC, there is a PayPal link at the bottom of the page that you can click. I appreciate and pray that God will return your blessing to you in overflow.
