"If God is for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:31b
Wow, this tour has been amazing. God has totally had his hand in everything we’ve done. Initially it would appear that it wasn’t the best tour, but I will remember it for the rest of my life, and that’s because of the good things. Our first day out, my coordinator got a speeding ticket, a large bump on his head and the stomach flu. What with the bump and the flu, he was unable to lead our very first service, so my wonderful financier, the second in command had to lead it. It really went very well and the other girl on my team led someone to Christ for the first time. A couple weeks later we were given the opportunity to minister at a prison. We did three services a day for two days and saw 194 salvations. The pastor had given out church information and asked for information from the inmates so he could keep in contact and follow up with them. About two weeks later we were given the opportunity to go back to the pastor’s house and learned that he told us that he’d already seen growth in the attendance of the church consisting of people who’d been released and were bringing their families. It was really refreshing to hear feedback from what we’re doing for the Kingdom of God.
We also experienced God’s protection this tour. About halfway through the tour, the van started to get pulled to the side of the road and the driver overcorrected causing the van to fishtail and we almost flipped. We went up on the two left tires causing them to blow and as a result left some large grooves in the highway. In all reality, we should have flipped, but we started crying out to God and he reached down and righted us up, I felt his hand. The frame was slightly bent and we had to be towed since we had two flat tires, but only one tire needed to be replaced so our end bill was only $25. Later that day our transmission went capoot. A week after that, we pulled over to get the oil changed and at that moment noticed the van wasn’t steering like it should and there was a strange sound coming from the left front of the van. We soon discovered that the entire tire piece was coming off! Thankfully we’d had the sudden desire to get the oil changed when we did or we would have been going full speed on the interstate when the tire came loose. There was a tire store about a mile away from where we were sitting and it was going to cost $150 to tow it, so we decided to try to drive the distance. The breaks were locked, and the tire was at a cockeyed angle. We then had faulty or misunderstood directions so took a wrong turn. However, we were praying the whole time and the tire stayed on. When we got to our location, the mechanic said there was no reason that tire should not have come off, he was pulling pieces off with just his pen. The only thing keeping that tire on was the hand of God. Again a week later, after we again got the van back, we learned that we had a bad rear axle and the right back tire was leaking differential fluid. We arrived at a church about a week after that which offered to help get the axle fixed. The car place itself gave us a ten percent discount and then the pastor paid for half.
As you can see, God’s hand has well been in the midst of this tour: whether in the “simply” good, or bringing good out of the bad. That reminds me of a scripture that is fairly well known, but is brought to my attention yet again. Romans 8:28-31 NIV “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?” We have been attacked this tour, but God has won out. Disabling the coordinator didn’t prevent a young lady to be saved, and causing the van to break down every single week didn’t prevent us from still getting to our location and doing God’s work. Remember that God is always there, no matter what.
The number one thing I need to ask of you is to keep myself and this ministry in your prayers. While as the vehicle trouble this tour is more that normal, we still have the normal upkeep which can still be pricy. With the added repairs of this van, we most definitely need the finances to keep going. Also, I’ve just signed on for my second year, and I still need some finances for my second year. If you would like to support me financially, you can use the PayPal link at the bottom of this page. I thank all of you for the prayers already sown into this ministry and my life and I thank God for each and every one of you.
