What does it tak e to make a jump of faith? Is it just our willingness to obey, or is it the courage to step out into the unknown?
I was leading a youth service this tour in Texas. Before the service I was just praying to God that He would give me the right things to say and the right skits to do. I got to the church and continued to pray and seek God. He gave me the theme of faith. We did a skit that night caled "Jump", which shows a guy getting ready to take a leap of faith because God has called him to. However, in this skit, there is another guy that is trying his best to keep the other guy from jumping. The other guy represents many things. The world, satan, and they are trying to influenece then "jumper" into not jumping. In the end the guy relied on his faith and jumped.
After the youth service, the youth pastor came up to me and said that I hit the nail on the head. He told me that he was talking to a certain girl before the service and she was struggling with this same issue. She felt like God was telling her to go one direction, and she felt like her father was pushing her hard to go another direction. This girl had no idea what to do in this situation, but the pastor said that when we did that skit, that it spoke to the girl directly. To listen listen to God and take that leap of faith. It filled my heart with joy to know that God could use such a simple skit to reach someone and change their life.
2 Corinthians 5:7 says: "for we walk by faith and not by sight." Sometimes we can get to a point in life where nothing seems to look the way we think it ought to look. God asks us to do some things which require us to rely on on faith rather than on what we see around us. Sure, things don't always look like roses or blue skies. This is exactly why we walk by faith and not by sight. Hebrews 10:23 says, "let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful." Our God is always going to be faithful to us. When we begin to put our trust in God and take steps of faith, that, is when we please Him. Hebrews 11:6 says, "Now without faith it is impossible to please God..." From now on, no matter what your situation or circumstance looks like, just rely on faith to carry you. If God has called yo uto do something, take that leap and He will provide for you. When God calls you to take a leap of faith, will you conform to this world or will you renew your mind and obey him?
In this ministry, we like to take mission trips to other coutries and preach the gospel. We are currently working on a mission trip and I personally would love to go on one. If you are willing to help me out and donate to send me outside the US, it would be a huge blessing to me! God bless and thank you to all that support me in some way or another. Thanks!
