The Restoration of the Soul!!!
Lives were changed, people were affected, and hearts restored during the course of this tour and I am not just meaning my own. One person in particular stands out in my mind. I'm sure that she encouraged my team as much as we encouraged her. She was an awesome woman of God and was truly in love with Him in a way that you don't see very often. She was probably in her fifties, but that hadn't diminished her passion at all. If anything, it was stronger than ever. We were doing a Wednesday evening service at her church, and we did a skit call I Surrender. The skit's message was that we needed to give everything over to God, even those things that you don't want to or you don't see as a problem. This lady came up during the altar call and you could tell that she was truly repenting from something in her life. We prayed for her during the service, but we really didn't think much more about it after that. Well, she turned out to be the girls' host for the night. During dinner that night, she told us that God had really convicted her during that skit, telling her that she was too focused on material things and that it was distracting her from her relationship with Him. She knew that it was going to be really hard, but she was willing to change because God told her that that was what He wanted her to do. That encouraged me to know that with God's help, we can overcome any obstacle that is placed before us.
That is something that I have been working on a lot in my own life as well. I have a hard time giving things over to God and I always feel as though I can do it better by myself. I have been struggling with laziness this tour. I noticed that it affected my attitude even when I didn't let the rest of my team see that attitude. For the first half of the tour, I did not want to get up and have a personal time with the Lord. I wanted those extra few minutes to sleep in as late as I could. I knew that what I was doing wasn't good, but I was lazy. Finally, halfway though the tour, God convicted me and I realized that I was hurting myself by not taking the time to have a relationship with Him. It says in Proverbs that "Lazy people who refuse to work are only killing themselves". This used to be true about me, but with God's help I now know that getting a few minutes of sleep isn't worth the bad attitude and distracted mind.
I am closing out another wonderful year in the drama company, and I am beginning my third and final year. With that in mind I would like to say that I am very thankful for all of the support that everyone has been in the two years that I have been in the drama company. You are all such a blessing and I don't even think that you realize how much of one. If it weren't for supporters like you, I would not be able to do this and for that I am so incredibly thankful. With that I would love for any continued support that you could be. And please keep me in your prayers as I continue to travel and do what God has called me to do.
Thanks again and God bless you!!
