Got Faith? Wonderful! Got Works?
Before this tour started, I prayed for our faith to increase. I really wanted to experience stepping out in faith and trusting God when it seems difficult. Well, nothing is too difficult for my God! Of course, we all know this, but how many of us truly believe it?
In the middle of the tour, God told me to give Him all the money I had and trust Him. I argued with Him for a few days and I tried to shake it off. I complained to Him, hoping he would change His mind, I mean money doesn’t exactly come easy to you when you’re a traveling volunteer minister. One night I was talking to God and He asked me if I trusted Him. I was silent for awhile and I began to think about all the things He had brought me out of; I thought about all the times God has provided for me; I thought about all the things He created, then I told Him, “Surely I can trust you. I can trust the One who made heaven and earth, I can trust the One who pulled me out of darkness and changed my life completely.” The next day, I went to the bank and took all of my money out of my account and did what God told me to do with it. Even though at the time, there were several things that I needed (shampoo, soap, etc.) I put my complete trust in God and waited on Him. Within that week, God blessed me with everything I needed and with $300, not just for me but for everyone on my team! It is so awesome to see that because I was faithful with the little that God gave me, He blessed me with so much more!
Hebrews 11:6 says “It is impossible to please God without faith.” The bible also says in 2 Corinthians 5:7 that we are to live by faith and not by sight. The bible is filled with men and women of God who lived by faith. God wants us to trust Him and believe in Him for everything. No matter the circumstance, no matter what things look like, we are called to walk by faith and trust in the Lord!
I encourage you to read James 2:14-26. These scriptures explain that faith without works is dead. Saying you have faith but never walking in that faith is like saying having everything you need to wash your clothes ( a machine, detergent, softener, etc.), but walking around with dirty clothes, it’s pointless. Where are you feeling the need to give? What church or ministry or person has God laid on your heart to bless financially? He is our beloved Father and we are His beloved children, surely He will take car of us! Just trust Him. After all, He has the whole world in His hands!
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope my experience will help and encourage you. We’re going on a mission trip to England this fall and I know there are several of my cast mates who would love to be able to travel to other areas of the world and minister the gospel through drama. If you feel lead to bless them financially, just click the Pay-Pal link at the bottom of their screens.
God bless you,
Ashley
